Strategic Leadership Team (SLT)

Our Strategic Leadership Team consists of five members of staff:

Joolz Scarlett, Headteacher   

I have worked in education for over 20 years and my experience includes working with children and young adults across the primary, special and secondary sectors. 

I joined Manor Green School in 2013 as the Assistant Headteacher for the secondary department, became a Deputy Headteacher in 2015 and was very fortunate to be appointed Headteacher in September 2016.  I love working at the school and enjoy being surrounded by a variety of amazing young people and staff, which fulfils my passion for inclusion and working with children.

I grew up locally in Berkshire and am married with two children, who, along with Manor Green School and our large furry family, keep me happy and busy and, whenever I do have time to myself, I enjoy horse riding and live music.  


Ian Peters, Deputy Headteacher - ACE   

I love to see students learning new skills, developing their independence and being motivated to learn. I have a broad range of teaching experience, the majority of which is in Special Educational Needs, and have now been in Senior Leadership for more than 5 years. My motivation to work in the leadership of Manor Green School stems from my desire to see students succeed and thrive in the world around them.  My vision for any school that I am involved in is for it to be an exceptional setting for extraordinary young people.  I believing aiming for an environment in which students, whatever challenges they face, can meet their potential and exceed expectations.  I am highly motivated by the exceptional success of young people and for me the opportunity to foster that success here at Manor Green School is tremendously exciting.

This is a fantastic school with students that are heroes in my mind.  They overcome the greatest challenges and truly embody the school’s Golden rules.  I’m sure I learn as much from them as they do from me.

Away from school, I enjoy spending time with my amazing wife and four fantastic children. Learning is a lifelong passion for me, and I believe it should never stop.

Helen Hannam, Deputy Headteacher - Interventions   

I studied for my Degree (B.A Hons and PGCE) at Liverpool University. Following these studies I decided to travel and spent the next 10 years in Hong Kong working as part of the English Schools' Foundation. I have worked extensively within the pastoral system during my teaching career and moved towards Special Educational Needs taking my SENCO       qualification at Reading University.

For the past three years I worked as the Assistant Head for Inclusion at Cox Green School. I worked closely with Manor Green School and having the opportunity to join the school is a hugely exciting opportunity that I am really looking forward to. I am passionate about making a difference through educational opportunities.

Out of school I am kept very busy along with my husband and 10 year old son training the latest addition to the Hannam household, our 12 week old puppy, Lanson.

Manor Green is a fantastic school and I look forward to  meeting and working closely with all the students, staff and parents.

Warren Griffiths, Head of Wellbeing and Safeguarding   

I am very grateful to be given the opportunity to come and work at Manor Green School in the role of Head of Wellbeing and Safeguarding. A few weeks before I had my job interview I was lucky enough to be given a tour of the school and was not only impressed by the excellent facilities and staff resources, but was  taken aback at how happy all the students were.  I immediately knew that this was where I wanted to work.

I have been working in Children’s Services for 12 years with my most recent role being the Manager for an Intensive Family Support Team. However, over the years I have had various roles working in a variety of settings including Social Care, Youth Offending Teams, and a Charity. I have also been a Foster Carer for the past two years.

Outside of work I live with my wife, two children and two lazy French Bulldogs (Nora and Lola)!

I look forward to meeting you all over the coming months.


Helen Reeves, Head of HR   


I have worked in senior HR roles in mainly public sector and charity organisations including the National Gallery and Terrence Higgins Trust. My previous role was at the Electoral Commission which is an independent organisation that regulates the finances of political parties and encourages people to vote in elections. I enjoy working for organisations that have a positive impact on people’s lives and my  experience has focused on enabling and supporting others to deliver their best in order to meet the aims of the organisation.

My work has covered all aspects of HR including strategy, organisational design and change,   employee relations, recruitment, learning and development, engagement, reward and staff well-being. I have provided advice to managers and staff on complex staffing issues and I have managed some major projects. I have managed HR teams of varying sizes. 

My role at the school is to provide strategic leadership on all matters relating to the school’s workforce and support the school’s aims of becoming a Centre of Excellence and an Employer of Choice. 

In my spare time I like socialising with family and friends, gardening and baking. 




Tanya Marley, Operations' Manager 



I am the Operations' Manager for the school and hold responsibility for Facilities, Health & Safety, ICT and Reception.

I joined Manor Green School in April 2015.  I have been working in facilities for 18 years, having started my facilities' career in a large facilities' management company working for the Ministry of Defence.  Following 15 years in that sector, I worked as Facilities' Manager for a further education establishment, before joining Manor Green School as facilities manager, and took on the role as Operations' Manager in 2017.

I live in Hampshire with my husband and cat Rocco.

In my spare time I am a keen fair weather camper; we have a large tent and like discovering new areas in the UK to visit.

Didem Allen. Finance Manager
