Wilson class- learning thats been done!

In Wilson class, we have been doing bucket and focusing it around the letter of the week. We correlate our stages and provide activities for the children that are associated with the letter. The subject that we are currently focusing on is Christmas, and as you can imagine it’s a favourite of our pupils!! We have made glitter advent candles, our very own 3D Christmas trees and Christmas crackers. It’s been a literal glitter party!!! The children have been putting their creative hats on and have coloured, designed and decorated their very own homemade Christmas decorations for the upcoming Christmas fair. It’s been amazing to watch the individuality of each child expressing themselves through their work.

During our maths lessons students have been learning about the importance of money, some have even been learning how to convert pounds to pence and vice versa. Our teacher Mrs Vaughan implemented a visual learning aid by setting up shop stalls that included a Sweet shop, Cake stall and our very own Toy shop in order to make the maths lesson more interactive and appealing to the students learning. It was a complete success and everyone had a jolly good time.

Wilson class have also had the opportunity to cook Spanish food/drink this term and show us their amazing culinary skills. We made a mocktail called Sangria which consisted of strawberries, pineapple, melon and a yummy fruit juice. It was delicious! The students are having to put their cooking skills to the test by making a tomato and chickpea soup...wish them luck!!

This Thursday, Wilson class are looking forward to selling the enterprise gifts that they have been making all term and have worked extremely hard on. We’ve got some amazing Christmas stories that have been created by our pupils and some very yummy, yummy treats!  We hope to see all the amazing staff and wonderful parents there. So if you see Wilson class, don’t forget to give us a big wave or a high five!
