At Manor Green School, we believe direct experience of places and activities away from school are an important part of our students’ development. The trips we offer are a great opportunity for students to discover, take part and enjoy a range of things and to practice their social skills in less familiar settings.
Some of the trips that our students get involved in include:
Once a week, some students visit Maidensgrove Riding School, an independent charity affiliated to the national Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA). This is an excellent opportunity for our students to ride a horse under qualified instruction, practising their balance and coordination skills. Horse riding is a therapeutic alternative to developing students’ social, emotional and physical needs; it is enjoyable and rewarding, enabling our students to gain self-confidence and pride in their achievements.
- Thames Valley Adventure Playground
Our Early Years and Key Stage 1 students head down to Thames Valley Adventure Playground to enjoy the fun and freedom afforded by the opportunity to play and share experiences in a safe and stimulating environment. Students have access to roundabouts, swings, a zip wire, a tree top trail, elevated walkways, multi-sensory rooms, crazy golf, musical instruments, gardens and beaches as well as a castle, spaceships, boats, bikes and planes! The opportunities are endless.
We also have access to our local Magnet Leisure Centre and Cox Green School’s gym to use their facilities.
In addition, whole or part day trips are sometimes arranged to support different areas of the curriculum.
